The Cairns Indigenous Art Fair (CIAF) celebrates the beauty and diversity of Indigenous culture. This year, 150 emerging and established artists and music, dance and theatre performers will be showcasing their work at CIAF. The core venue for the Cairns event is the Cairns CruisMe Liner Terminal close to your Cairns accommodation, Sebel Cairns.

There are lot of activities planned at the Cairns Indigenous Art Fair for both children and adults. This includes the following:

The three-day fair is part of an exciting $11.93 million initiative called the Backing Indigenous Arts program by the Queensland Government to support the promotion and ethical sale of Indigenous art and helping new and established Indigenous artists sell their artwork to collectors and members of the public without exploitation. The focus of the Cairns Indigenous Art Fair Symposium held on Saturday 21 August will be a discussion on how to protect the rights and responsibilities of artists and the preservation of Indigenous art. It will be led by prominent Aboriginal artist, curator and academic Dr Brenda Croft and renowned Torres Strait Islander artist Alick Tipoti  

CIAF attracts more than 10000 visitors to its annual celebrations of art, music, dance and culture since its inception in 2009.
