The Cairns Street Buskers Festival will have more than 40 day and night performances held over 5 days. An amazing array of street performers from clowns and acrobatic acts to singing and entertaining.
The Cairns Street Buskers Festival was first conceived by event staff at the Cairns Esplanade in 2006 and has been a work in-progress ever since. The Buskers Festival was designed to put world class buskers on our streets and to create a platform to showcase the exceptional and talented artists we have in Cairns and the far north. It is fast becoming the largest street performance festival in Queensland.
This year organisers of the Cairns Street Buskers Festival have added extra elements to the program with:
- Opening Night Gala show
- Twilight circus on the foreshore
- Extra indoor daytime performances
- Extra comedy shows
The aim of this festival is to continue to bring excellent talent to the streets of Cairns for five days in September, all free of charge. The performers are Buskers who choose to make their living entertaining on the streets. They rely on your generosity to keep performing. Please consider this when you are contributing to their hats.
